MBC Shisaku Fund is a 2 billion yen (US$17.5M) VC fund to invest in early stage hardware startups for prototyping - not only in Japan, but also in North America and Europe, over a 10 year redemption period. The fund focus on the following IoT fields: robotics, sensors, network and big data analysis, medical devices, nursing care, lifestyle, environment and energy.
Kyoto Bank is the anchor limited partner and Darma Tech Labs (Makers Boot Camp) manages the Fund.
The purpose of the Fund is to foment investments and prototyping support currently offered through Makers Boot Camp, who already works in close collaboration with Kyoto Shisaku Net, a professional manufacturing network for prototyping support.
