Produktworks Design is an award winning product design consultancy based in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2008, we provide mechanical engineering and industrial design services related to technology product development. We are hyper-focused on developing robust, effective solutions for our growth clients.

Our client base is varied, ranging from early stage, funded startups launching their first product, to small/medium enterprises looking to expand upon their existing product line. We are experts in the design, development and implementation of emerging technology. Our projects have ranged from consumer/commercial technology products, medical devices, lab equipment, IoT and wearable devices.

MOTION COMPUTING-RFID MODULE

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, Motion Computing® is a global leader in integrated mobile technologies for vertical markets including utilities, healthcare, construction, public safety, and retail. With a complete lineup of ruggedized tablet PCs, accessories, software and wireless infrastructure, Motion empowers mobile workers at the point of service.

Motion came to Produktworks to help develop the EasyConnect Long Range RFID Reader for their F5 and C5 tablets. This module delivers the mobility and productivity of a hand-held RFID Reader device with the flexibility and functionality of a powerful PC. We designed and engineered a rugged housing to match the tablet and worked with their vendor to develop a custom RFID antenna and PCB that was needed for the extended range.

The Area-51 desktop represented a new direction in Alienware’s product line, combining jaw-dropping aesthetics with ground-breaking technology in a custom chassis that is designed to impress, both visually and technologically.

d:e approached us to help them engineer their cutting edge design language for Alienware. Working with the conceptual sketches, we developed a CAD database that would later be used for product rendering and manufacturing. While staying true to their design, we also had to ensure ease of manufacturability and a logical part breakup for use in detailed engineering design.
