We focus on Internet of Things (IoT) with special interests in embedded Mobile/Portable device and technologies utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and/or WiFi.

RedBear has been working in the DIY space since 2012. We launched our first BLE Shield for Arduino back in Sep 2012 as a “side-project”. Since the beginning of 2014, we focus 100% on Maker products; we now have nine BLE or WiFi boards and 20+ reselling partners worldwide.

Our Blend Micro is approved by Arduino and is currently the only BLE board certified in their AtHeart program.

BLE Shield stands for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Shield. It is designed to work with Arduino boards or compatibles, including Arduino Uno, Mega 2560, Leonardo and Due. It allows you to connect your Arduino boards with other BLE Central device like a smartphone or tablet. So you can develop some applications like:

Control your Arduino pins with our/your own mobile App

Send sensor data from your Arduino to an App for processing

Use your mobile device as an internet gateway for your Arduino

and much more!

BLE shield could operate under 3.3V or 5V, therefore it works with a lot of Arduino compatible boards too.

You can now incorporate Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (BLE) technology easily in your project with our BLE Mini.

BLE Mini requires only a serial port for communication so it supports all major development platforms that have UART interface including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Netduino, BeagleBone etc.

In addition, we provide you with access to all Ti's CC2540 I/O pins and the ability to upload firmware via USB, making the BLE Mini an ideal development/prototyping board for your BLE project/accessory/Appcessory.
